The Different Levels

In order to be an effective BD it is important to understand the different levels of message boards and what you will find there. To me, message boards are the billboards that line the communication highways we travel here in Cybertown. The message boards are very effective in keeping citizens informed of special events and contests. You can use message boards to remind people of the rules and regulations of Cybertown. Use them to introduce and welcome new citizens to your hood. Welcome new staff members to Metaverse, or to advertise parties or events. Using the boards to recruit new staff you should never post recruiting message's outside of your local area. In other words if say you were looking for help at the Net, it would be fine to post a message at the Virtual Worlds Colony level board,or the neighborhood board(metaverse in this case) or at the block's board located at the Net. But it would not be acceptable to post on another colony board or a different block board within your neighborhood. You'll find them full of lots of useful information, and just down right entertaining, so visit them often, and use them thats why they are there. But please use some common sense here.

Block level (Your block)

[Example block level (of TheNet block) in house-map view as of June 2000]

Here you will find messages that pertain to the block, and two buttons you should be pretty familiar with now, (Information and Messages) and four new buttons, (House names, Message to all, Update and Check):

Changes the block-level display from the purely graphical "house-map"-view to the more detailed "house names"-view.
Shows infos about the block's Block leader and Block Deputies .
This is the block board where you can read and post messages that pertain to your block.
Here you can post new messages or forward messages to all the residents of your block. As I mentioned in the introduction, one of your first tasks is to introduce yourself, and the message to all button is perfect for that. Generally, also post to the block board a copy of what you post to all. This of course is only one example of how to use this function.
Used mostly by the BL and higher levels of staff to set up the block layout of homes. Important: As a BD you should never use this button without consulting with your BL first. Even then if for some reason you do use it you must be very careful because it can cause a lot of damage if not used properly.
Used to check resident's 2D images.
